Are there any problems changing the Allow PBCO constant?

JDEList,

We currently allow Posting to prior periods - which produces a warning and not a hard error. However, we wish to stop this capability. To do this we uncheck the Allow PBCO (Post Before Cut Off) in the General Accounting Constants (P0000). I believe that the only result of this change is that from the time of the change forward, any posting to a prior period will result in a hard error and not a warning. Is this correct? Are there any probelms that would possibly occur if we make this change?

Peter,

you are indeed right: you can safely change your General Accounting Constant
"Allow PBCO" from disable to enable.

Carlo,

Thank's for the quick reply, it is appreciated. I wasn't quite sure if it would affect any docs already posted to a prior period. I'll make sure that all docs are posted snf that there is nothing unposted before I make the change just to be sure. End of the month is a good time to do that.

It won't affect any posted docs. However it will affect any unposted so posting everything is a good idea.
