Single Instance with Multi Language in Upgrade to EOne 8.12

Hi,
Has any one done an upgrade of Single Instance with Multi Languages to the latest versions, I would like to know what are possible issues, Advantages and Disadvantages we face in the upgrade process, What factors we have to consider in doing the upgrade?
