Random Fatal Error while running in 8.96 applications

Users are getting fatal errors in Production 8.96 and it is random, meaning it does not occur with a particular application. I have read many JDE List posts such as User Overrides, running R9698711, Security Workbench, but since the issue is random it is difficult to pinpoint what to fix. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wildcat,

To allow the provision of assistance, more detail would be beneficial. Such as the detail of your system configuration:
- which release of tools 8.96;
- the version of JDE-eg 8.10, 8.11 sp 1, 8.12;
- your enterprise server platform and database;
- delivery of the system to users-web, fat client, citrix etc;
- if applicable, your web server configuration and versions of web enabling software-eg IBM HTTP, Websphere).

Also the text (or screen prints) of the error(s) you are receiving, a description of the actions etc that lead up to the errors, where is the error occuring (fat client, web etc) and if possible any logs that are available. How old is the installation? Were there any changes made to the system prior to these problems occuring - even if they seem unrelated?

As you mention, such random errors can be very difficult to diagnose and fix, so the more information that can be sourced, the better.

Hi,

May you please also send us some screenshots of the
error messages, JAS logs and Enterprise logs.
They will surely help us to pinpoint the cause of these
errors. Database? WebSphere? OAS? JDE services?
Network? Out of disk? etc.

This sounds like someone changed the Data Dictionary. I'd start down that path.
