Good information, thanks. I'm trying to determine if using VMWare is feasible for development purposes only vs a Fat Client.

We use VMWare for all our dev clients. We are running 5 dev clients so it is something I would recommend of you are using them strictly for dev clients.

YES !
VMware is awesome for development purposes. However, if you're on 8.10 and prior, then I'd suggest setting up development on citrix instead - that way you can have as many development "sessions" as you want. I have a document on my website that details how you should do this.
