Import from Excel

We're on E1 v8.94. I support Excel in our organization but am a newcomer to E1. I have been asked to figure out why some people can do an import grid data to E1 with the subject Excel spreadsheet open, while others have to close Excel completely for it to function. For them, with Excel open, the data does not get selected in the spreadsheet. In each case I have confirmed that the JDEExcelAutoU ActiveX Control is installed and appears to have the same properties. Has anyone else experienced this? The example I was given is in the Journal Entry Dr/Cr Format screen. Thank you.

You say E1 8.94 - but are you using the web or citrix under 8.9/8.10 ? Or maybe a fat client ?

Man - I wish I had that job "supporting Excel in our organization" - sounds like a cushy job.

No, actually, I'd like to support Microsoft Word in an organization. I think that would be even easier.

We have a mix of fat and web client users. So far, this problem has been documented on web users only.

... and before you get too excited about my job, I should mention that I am the sole software support specialist for all non-E1 desktop apps across a 1,000+ user network. I think supporting just Excel would be pretty cushy too! But, again, in the E1 realm, I am a novice. Thanks!
