Custom Environment

Good day,

I have to create a new Training environment from scratch for 8.11. I received documentation but it doesn’t help as it doesn’t create the Data sources etc. Can anyone please assist with documentation explaining from A - Z?

Use PY environment to as your source environment, and your custom environment as your target environment

1. Complete a back up of the following databases in the SQL database
a. BOTH PY environment databases
b. System Database
2. Create the object and business data databases using the E810 scripts attached
3. On the deployment server log into the PSFTPLAN environment using the PSFT user
4. Start the Custom Installation Plan application
5. Click add
6. Fill in the information and click next
7. Press select in the location window, and select your current location press ok
8. Press select in the deployment server window, and select your deployment server press ok
9. Press select in the enterprise server window, and select your enterprise server press ok, Click on take defaults
10. Press select in the java server window, and select your current java server press ok
11. Press select in the data server window, and select your data server press ok, Click on take defaults
12. Uncheck default environments, press ok
13. Click add
14. Name your new environment, and code, Check “Just in Time Installation” press next
15. Select “Copy and Existing Patch Code”, press Next
16. Review Information, correct any mistakes, press Next
17. Click only your new environment and press select
18. Setup your data sources, for your new environment, MAKE SURE ALL YOUR INFORMATION IS CORRECT
19. Click close
20. Click No
21. Verify the Plan
22. Run the installation workbench and complete the plan
23. On the deployment server log into the PSFTPLAN environment using the PSFT user
24. Start the Custom Installation Plan application
25. Click add
26. Fill in the information and click next
27. Press select in the location window, and select your current location press ok
28. Press select in the deployment server window, and select your deployment server press ok
29. Press select in the enterprise server window, and select your enterprise server press ok, Click on take defaults
30. Press select in the java server window, and select your current java server press ok
31. Press select in the data server window, and select your data server press ok, Click on take defaults
32. Uncheck default environments, press ok
33. Click add
34. Use the new environment name and just add J in front of it
35. Use the same code from step 14
36. Check “Just in Time Installation” and “JAS Environment”
37. Click next
38. Select “Share an Existing Patch Code”, press Next
39. Review Information, correct any mistakes, press Next
40. Click only your new J environment and press select
41. Setup your data sources, for your new environment, MAKE SURE ALL YOUR INFORMATION IS CORRECT, the should be the same as above
42. Click close
43. Click No
44. Verify the Plan
45. Run the installation workbench and complete the plan
46. On the deployment server log into the PSFTPLAN environment using the PSFT user
47. Launch the Batch Application from the Fast Path by typing BV
48. In the batch application type R98403 and press find
49. Double-click version XJDE0021
50. On Version Prompting, choose Advanced.
51. On Advanced Version Prompting, Choose Override Location and click Ok
52. On Version Prompting, click Submit.
53. Choose LOCAL as the data source.
54. Processing Options, set the following options
a. Environment Tab
i. Option 1: Target Environment
ii. Option 2: Leave Blank
iii. Option 3: 2
iv. Option 4: Leave Blank
v. Option 5: Source Environment
b. Update Tab
i. Option 6: 1
ii. Option 7: A
iii. Option 8: 1

62. On Version Prompting, choose Advanced.
63. On Advanced Version Prompting, Choose Override Location and click Ok

91. In the E811 directory on the deployment server rename the “Target Environment” directory to “’Target Environment’ back up”
92. Create a copy of “Source Environment” directory in the same directory and rename it from “Copy of ‘Source Environment’” to “Target Environment”
93. On the Enterprise Server stop all E811 services
94. On the E811 directory on the Enterprise server under the DDP directory rename the “Target Environment” directory to “’Target Environment’ back up”
95. Create a copy of “Source Environment” directory in the same directory and rename it from “Copy of Source Environment” to “Target Environment”
96. Start all E811 services
97. On the deployment server log into the DEP811 environment using the PSFT user
98. Launch the Batch Application from the Fast Path by typing BV
99. In the batch application type R989861 and press find
100. Double-click version XJDE0001
101. On Version Prompting, choose Advanced.
102. On Advanced Version Prompting, Choose Override Location and click Ok
103. On Version Prompting, click Submit.
104. Choose LOCAL as the data source.
105. Processing Options, set the following options
a. Update F9861 Tab
i. Current Pathcode: Source Environment Pathcode
ii. New Pathcode: Target Environment Pathcode
106. Click Ok
107. Click Ok
108. Review the Report output for errors
109. Close the thick client on the deployment server
110. On the deployment server log into the DEP811 environment using the PSFT user
111. Under the package assembly application create a new package for the Target Environment pathcode
112. Define a client and server build for the new package and submit builds overnight
113. Deploy both client and server packages
114. Generate all objects if you require web access for this environment

rename it from "Copy of Source Environment" to "Target Environment"
96. Start all E811 services
97. On the deployment server log into the DEP811 environment using the PSFT
