SP23_R1 and JAS...

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I don't remember seeing it.
We're planning to upgrade to SP23_R1 so that we can then upgrade from WebSphere 4 to WS6. Are the versions of the JAS service pack that say 6 after the names specifically for WS6? If so, does that mean I can't use them with 4?
