hello everyone
i want to install JDE all over again on new w2k3 server, is there any quick method of install or i must go with the 287 page manuel

i have to do this on a lab server because my real DEP is [censored] up, the server crash and i lost all registry key even when i restore everything ... so i have 2 option
install all over on a new 2003 or i have an old registry back .reg but with all the info in there i cant do it manually and when i update the registry the server crash when reboot ... anyway

but the way i found out that when the Deployement server is down Jde is very slow but if build up a new server with the same name of the crash server ... jde for the user is much faster ...

im a noob here so dont be too harsh on me !!!!

Hi,

You need the following (assuming it's Xe or ERP8)

1. Backup of the whole share \\deployment\b7333 or b7334
2. Backup of your c:\windows\jde.ini
3. Backup of the HKLM\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI registry
entries (not mandatory, but it's easier than retyping
them all manually) and HKLM\SOFTWARE\JDEdwards registry
for not reinstalling all ESUs.

You reformat your server with W2003, install all the
MTRs (C++, MDAC, Database client,IE, Service Packs, etc)
Then run Deployment Setup CD#1, install on the same
path and drive where it was before.
Share the c:\jdedwardsoneworld\b7333 folder as b7333
(or b7334 depending...) with RW permissions.
Restore the whole c:\jdedwardsoneworld\b7333 folder from
tape overwriting what you just installed.
Restore the previous c:\windows\jde.ini
Restore the previous ODBCs and JDEdwards registry entries.
Reboot, voilà.

If my memory isn't failing, you'll have to visit all
of your fat clients and "Get Auth Code" for them all.
