Purchase Orde line does not go to status 400/999 after receipt of all items

We are facing a peculiar problem. We are receiving items through the receipt route. Once all items on order are received and moved through the receipt route upto the last stage, we find that the line status does not get updated to 400/999 always. Some times it does and some times it does not. When this happens we reverse the line and again receive it. This time it closes and status updates to 400/999. Anybody can throw light on this please as to what could be the probable reason.
 
Hi Govind,

Check Status Codes in processing option in P4312 in "Status Default" tab.

Make sure that "Outgoing Status for Closing" and Outgoing Status for Cancelling" are both set to 999.

But the processing options in both are set to 999.

The main problem is with the same version sometimes it closes and sometimes it does not
