resuming process monitor in E1 8.9

In process monitor, if the monitor fails for any reason, how can it be resumed. Have tried the row exit button (resume) but it does not work.

The process monitor needs to be reactivated or all subsequent workflows and emails coming from the process monitor can't be generated.
