Re-indexing

We are on ERP8.10 (Intel) using SQL2000. I just wondered what peoples feelings were as to re-indexing business data tables.

We have had a couple of complaints of bad performance when doing finds etc. I dont think a re-index has ever happened here since the original install (I havent been here that long).

Should reindexing happen every month, 3 months or should it not need to happen at all?

We re-index our tables that need it on a bi-weekly basis. If we don't we see performance issues. I would have your dba look at the indexes and see if they need it. Most likely a majority of them do.
