Webpshere Cloning for JAS servers, and html SAW

Hi list,

We use 2 JAS servers (W2000, Websphere 4.0.7, JAS SP20-R1) with Websphere vertical and Horizontal cloning. Only one access point, and then one of the 6 JAS application is used.
The problem is to get information of the 6 nodes using the jde html saw.
If you use the usual url, you never know on wich jas you're gonna get.
I tried to set up websphere as it is explained in jde documentation (where is explained the cloning set up) : add the "transport port" of each jas in the virtual host. But when i try to connect to http://server:transportport/jde/saw, i get a "cannot display page". I also add those ports in IIS web site configuration, but still get the same thing.

Do you know it's possible to get saw information for the node you want, in SP20, using IIS ?

Thanks for your help,

Cheers,

Hi,

We are using iSeries Websphere 5.0.2 and Xe SP23J1 in a 3 JVM vertical cluster/clone. Using an 8.10 install manual as a reference, we found that you have to explicitly specify index.jsp as part of the url(http://server:transport_port/jde/saw/index.jsp).

It is not perfect because using the transport port causes the requests to be routed directly to the specific JVM and bypasses the iSeries HTTP server configuration for location of image files, CSS, etc, but at least you can use the pages. I have not been able to get jasinternalonly working with the transport ports.

Wayne

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for your answer.
In fact, i had a "web administration guide" that was saying to connect to http://webserver:transport_port/jde/saw, but in a earlier version (for E1 8.9), it was said to use http://webserver:listeningport/jde/saw, and when the page is displayed to enter the transport port.
At least in Xe, the version i use, the default page of saw (index.html) does not allow to enter a number of port. So i tried another page i had found long time ago when looking a bit what was in the JAS directories : sawweb.html
So by typing http://webserver:listeningport/jde/saw/sawweb.html, and then in the page displayed the name of clone and the transport port, i can see the saw information of it.

Indeed, i don't see how to access to the jasinternalonly, but at least i'll be able to check every 6 clones we use at the same time instead of wasting 30 minutes of tries to see all of them ! :)

Cheers,
