Hi

We are on JDE Oneworld XE SP22_S1, our enterprise server is IBM RS6000 AIX 5.1L. Now we want to change the E/S platform to Intel - Windows 2003 O/S. Has anyone done this before. Do anybody have a documentation / procedures on how this can be done.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks

Here is a quick overview of what you have to do, these instructions assume that your new enterprise server will have a different domain name.

1. Install VC++ 6.0 with latest SP
2. Install Enterprise Server on Intel machine (follow the install manual)
3. Install SP22_S1 for the Intel platform
4. Setup the ODBC on the enterprise server
5. Run Add server plan on deployment
6. Installation workbench
7. Build and deploy full server package for your pathcodes
8. Change the deployment server jde.ini to include the new hostname for the security server
9. Change the client jde.ini to include the new hostname for the security server
10. Build and deploy a update client package with the “replace jde.ini” option selected
11. If Web is used, modify jas.ini with new hostname

This should point you in the right direction, please can someone confirm it

I believe the latest Quest Magazine has my article in it about this exact subject (converting one platform to another). I think it came out in July.

Hi John

I was searching the Quest Magazine website for your article on the above topic, but I could not find it. Can you please email the document.
