Visual Studio 2005 instead of C++ .NET 2003

Hi List,
For 8.11 standalone and a deployment server install, has anyone been able to use Visual Studio 2005 Pro instead of .NET 2003? I know PeopleSoft doesn't support it yet, but thought someone may have found a way for it to work. If you've done this with success, some pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Am using VB.NET 2005 to access data from our legacy iSeries.
