hi list,
I am a S&D functional guy with a task on hand to implement the HR module.
Our company is planning to implement HR module in E8.11.
please forward me any documents regarding implementation. We have constituted an internal team of functional(S&D) and technical consultants and team of CNCs. But the problem is that we do not have a HR functional consultant at our disposal.(Our S&D implementation has gone live and is as per the requirement)

I have few pdf's regarding HR downloaded from the ORACLE site .......PLS. let us know the cycle of HR.We want to implement Recruitment, Payroll. Ours is a not so big Software org. most of them working onshore on various projects.

Thanks in advance..

Cheers,
kaushik

Just my two cents...but an HR implementation especially with Payroll should have a seasoned HR/Payroll specialist on site. I've never, EVER seen an "out of the box" implementation of Payroll, and have never seen an implementation of HR/Payroll done by the book. In fact, I've seen too many implementations that HAD HR/PR expertise and still had numerous issues.

If I needed heart surgery, I could have the best brain surgeon in the world at my disposal, and true, he/she is a surgeon, but I'd still want a heart surgeon to work on the heart.

But then hey...I'm just a dumb CNC guy, what do I know?

Kaushik,

I'm going to add my 2¢ to Jim's but with a little different bent. If you don't have a dedicated HR/Payroll person to participate in your implementation, consider hiring a third-party to do your HR and payroll and tasks. Don't even consider trying to implement these modules in J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne. They are definitely not for the lighthearted.

I am the IT support person HR/Payroll at our company. We have been running live payrolls with benefits for about five and a half years. I took over after our original support person unexpectedly decided to retire. The complexities of the new system entered significantly into her decision to leave. We went live five months later and learned over the next two years how to do things properly.

It is very difficult for an outside consultant to implement with the help of a dedicated insider. Without one, I don't think it is possible.

I must agree with Jim and Ray, the JDE HR/Payroll implementation can be very tricky. You really need someone with payroll/hr implementation experience to be successful.

hi,
thank u one n all for the reply.
But could anyone send me a document regarding the HR cycle.
thanks in advance.

Cheers,
kaushik

Kaushik,
I think you are from one of those consulting companies, perhaps in India, doing off-shore projects. This must be some project which your company has taken and have now burdened you with. My suggestion would be to go through the entire documentation (wherever you can find it) and start after that.
HR/Payroll is very tricky and "there is always a chance of falling flat on your face if you try to run without legs", if you understand what I mean ?
Good Luck !
