Print Immediate

We are suddenly having a problem with the print immediate feature after working fine for 10mos on current install. We use it by selecting the option during the execution of a UBE. The printout is garbage that begins with PDF 1.4. We get the same result when we use the exit row 'print' request. It happens from a client and over citrix when run on server, when run locally to a printer output is ok. We use HP printers, and it happens from multiple sites and printers.
The problem is on one of our ent servers but not the other both are Windows 2003, the problem server running SQL Enterprise and the other SQL standard. Startup logs show one error message after we restart services, Apr 05 18:54:08.080 - 400/672 Error on call to fopen with file , errno-22, cannot save file packet for msg 7 and it takes 7-8min after a restart before we can successfully submit a ube. UBE logs do not show any specific errors.
What we have tried: contacting Oracle, they are looking at logs and think error msg is related to permissions?, rebooting all servers, building full package for problem server. Network adm tells us that there were no changes to OS. Will appreciate any advice on where to look for problem.

I think, you have too many entries in your temp file location. Look at the temporary file folder for the user who is starting the services. Clear them and then test it. I think these is a limitation of how many entries can be there in this folder.

This sounds like a possible printer language issue. Have you confirmed that your settings in JDE printers and the windows drivers are matched as far as PCL or PS output? You may want to experiement a little in that area and see if changing to PCL or PS setting makes a difference. It's possible if your using windows print servers that the driver changed there as well.
