We have a Microsoft 2003 Enterprise cluster - 2 nodes, both running 2003 Enterprise Edition 32bit. On top is Microsoft SQL 2000 SP4 - again, 32 bit. Both machines are running on AMD Opteron processors.
I want to put together a rolling upgrade plan for the cluster so we can upgrade to Win2K3 64bit and upgrade the database to SQL Server 2005 64bit. I was thinking that the OS would be upgraded first, and the database upgraded at a later stage - but I might be wrong.
I have looked around, and there doesn't seem to be that much information on Microsofts' website concerning this yet - so I'm stabbing in the dark and wondering if any fellow DBA's have done this type of conversion yet and if so - do you have some documentation ?
