Hi All
We are 4 weeks from going live on 8.11 SP1 and are having performance issues with our table conversion programs. We regularly run a large number of different conversions (inbound) over reasonably large files (1,000 to 50,000 records). One conversion in our current live environment (XE) takes 5-15 minutes, however tests in 8.11 show typical run times of 2-3h!
One of the new requirements for TC in 8.11 is to setup an encoding name cross reference in P93081. I do not have any documentation as to what is a recommended setup. Our current settings are:
User class: *PUBLIC
Environment: *ALL
Program ID: *DEFAULT
Version: *DEFAULT
Encoding Name: CP1252 (WIN-Latin 1, Western Europe)
Can anybody tell me if this is a recommended setup? Will performance improve if a different encoding name is used (eg UTF8)? Will performance improve if each TC UBE is setup individually? Can I attempt any other tricks?
