Cannot find Security server error when checking in or promoting

Hello Everyone,
I am new to CNC about (6 month green) learning on the fly. I have learned a tremendous amont from reading the threads on this sight thank you for all the info it has been invaluable. Now on to my issue, when our developers check in their projects/objects they are seeing a drop in communication to the security server and/or the save location, if they click ok, ok , ok it will eventually save this is also happening whenever I promote a package to the next status. this is not happening all the time nor is there any pattern emerge. I have not been able to capture anything in the debug log due to the lack of any pattern. Does anyone have any thoughts?
 
Have you checked your I-Series Access Express client level? Is it up to date? Have you varified that the files are journalling ok? Is it possible that something is killing ODBC connections on the 400?
