Goodies Part 2: The revenge

I've had a few requests for info on certain topics so I've put it all
together and I'm sending it to the download section of jdelist.com. Special
thanks to the gentlemen south of the border (especially N.P.) who motivated
me to write this stuff down.

Uploaded documents

1. Revised procedure on changing JDE passwords (document format changes
only)
2. OneWorld Fat Client Deployment
-Interactive Installs
-Silent Installs
-Ghosting OneWorld
-OneWorld SMS Deployments
3. OneWorld Fat Client Management
-Manually refreching client licenses
-Automatically refreshing client licenses
4. How to accept a OneWorld Package without being a Local Administrator.

I can see many of you salivating already. Hopefully others will spend the
time to continue to make valuable contributions to jdelist.

Sorry, but where did all these goodies go? I went to
http://www.jdelist.com/resource1.shtml and could not find anything. I
thought it's still not processed by Eric, but I could not find any kind of
procedure for changing JDE password, and it should already be there,
shouldn't it?

It's there. The last link.

In your documentation for Silent Installs, you point to running
-csetup.exe -h to find additional documentation for command line switches. However, I only have a setup.exe and InstallManager.exe in my OneWorld Client Install directory on our deployment server.

Is there somewhere else I can get this documentation? I tried a silent install earlier today, and it installed successfully. Unfortunately, it did a Development install, but all I want is a Production install. Do you know what switch/option (if there is one) that controls this install attribute?

Thanks for all your help!

Don, if you are on B733.1 then you should have a _csetup.exe (I've only
checked actually this in B733.2 and Xe). Check pages 2-3 to 2-7 of the JDE
Guide 'Managing OneWorld Installations Using SMS' here you'll see all of the
command line options available in YOUR version of OneWorld (command line
variable change between versions/service packs). If you don't have this
guide you can download it from the knowledge garden. If there really is no
-csetup.exe or _setup.exe on B733.1 let me know.

Re: RE: Goodies Part 2: The revenge

Colin,

Update 04/11/01 - 1:40 PM (PDT): Eureka! A coworker of mine found the document oti-99-0104, titled "Parameters for Silent Installation - Dev. Objects", which gives the parameters to use for development object inclusion in an installation. These optional parameters are case and space sensitive, and must be placed after the required parameters. Here's the three parameters covered:

-t Typical
Use to install development objects.
-t Compact
Use to NOT install development objects.
-r
Use to uninstall previous installation before continuing.
