Help with custom environment

JDE List,

I have created a custom environment (NPD733) and am attempting to apply an
ESU. I have this environment in my plan and I am able to build and deploy
packages against it.

When I apply an ESU everything seems to work okay except when it comes to
merging with the Object Librarian. On page two of the ESU Spec. Merge
Report all objects error out under the Object Librarian Merge section.

I notice that this happens with all ESUs in all environments unless you log
out and back into the PLANNER environment after each ESU application.
Unfortunately, this "fix" did not work when applying this ESU to my custom
environment.

Any ideas, comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

James,

We have the same problem. The process we use is: run the merge, let it
error, delete the record from the 'update history', reset the status to '1'
in 'affected objects' (for all the objects in the ESU) and run the merge
again. It always works after doing this but it's a real pain.

Matt,

are you running spec merge manually or re-applying the ESU after you change the merge code?

If manually can you describe the steps you are taking?

Larry,

After deleting the record from the update history and changing the status to
'mark for selection' on the affected objects (for that ESU) I then re-apply
the ESU merge. It always works after this!

I've only used OW Xe so I'm not sure if this can be done in previous
releases. The steps I take are:

GH9612, Software updates
Select the ESU record that failed
Select 'Update history' (row exit bar)
Select 'Environment History' (row exit bar)
Delete the failed ESU record
Close, close, next, select environment, UNCHECK backup (already run)
Select 'Affected objects' (row exit bar)
Select 'Advanced' (row exit bar)
Find the ESU and change the status to '1' (Marked for Selection) for all the
objects
Ok, Close, Next and then click merge!!

Hope this helps!
Matt
