Flat file guide

Hello all,

I have been tasked with finding the "flat file" guide on the knowledge zoo. I have been looking over te site for that last half hour and have found nothing. Does anyone know where it is located?

Thanks,

There are a couple of manuals that cover 'flat files' for JDE. One is the
'Data Interface for Electronic Data Interchange', another is the
'Interoperability' manual. These are on the XE documentation CD. The individual 'Z' file
processes are in in the manuals for the individual modules. For example the
F0411Z1 process is covered in the AP Manual under the heading 'Batch Voucher
Processing'. There are also really good white papers for the main Z1 processes
that can be found on the Knowledge Garden.

I'm thinking of starting a pay service for listers who can't find documentation on the Oracle website.

As hard as it can be to find things in the KG - if you can find things, you
might have a good business going!

I'm feeling so guilty...you can find what you are looking for in the PeopleBooks Interoperability guide: Using Flat Files section. PeopleBooks is a separate download; you can get them from the eDelivery site if you feel so inclined.

If you dont' want to bother with the PeopleBooks, and you are running 8.9 (as indicated in a previous post) you can load the helps from SolutionExplorer and navigate to the Tools and Technology section, Interoperability, Flat Files. I downloaded 8.9 Helps from Oracle.

Careful...a site like that might get you into trouble. I claim no affiliation. After all, you incorrectly spelled "Charley" as "Charlie".
