Xe install--Coexist with AS/400 Enterprise server

Has anyone come across any kind of issues doing a install of Xe for
the first time using JDE's documentation? This will be our first
install. We are going it alone, so any heads up on tips or tricks
would be appreciated. If there is a thread already on this, then
please let me know.

We will be coexisting with World A7.3 Cum 10, of course our Enterprise
server is an AS/400 running V4R5. CO will be on the 400, not on the
deployment server. We will be piloting a Citrix and Web server.

Thanks.

Other that keeping your Central Objects on the deployment server, for
perfromance reasons, rather than the AS/400, good luck. Just make sure all
relative JDE ptf's are applied correctly on the World side. A problem we ran
into was that the X2 ptf applied a large amount of logicals to the F0911 file.
At the time the file was rather large, and it took awhile to build the logicals,
we have since than ran purges on the file. We have yet to go to XE because of
business problems, we currently are at 7332. Again good luck on your
install.............................

Speaking of purging, what method did you use to purge the F0911 and not have
integrity issues? Did you archive the data?
Thanks in advance for any tips.

If you are doing a new install not a upgrade, then it should be easier. You need to be on World A73 CUM 12 with X3 (?) PTF.

We went thru a process on the World side using program P09911, which builds a
summary of the transactions, then you run it again to do the actual purge. The
hard part was reorging the file on the AS/400. Which no matter how you do it,
takes ahwile because of all the logicals.....................
