Hi,
If you the owner of the license, you can have the SPC code (it goes around
2019). For maintenance, you need it if you migrate, call Denver, Service
pack or ESU. If you don't pay your maintenance, it's RETROACTIVE (ho YES)
when you want it back.

I think you can use JDE indefinitely without paying for maintenance. What
maintenance gets you is the ability for telephone support, software
upgrades, and so on. If you don't need it then you don't have to pay.
However, most companies do prefer to have it.
I recently upgraded the SPC code for my client (who does not have
maintenance) from the URL so I am pretty sure it can be done.
However, I am not a lawyer or an accountant, so I am basing what I am
telling you based upon what I was able to do. I would never do anything
that is not within the law. The best thing to do is to call
Oracle/Peoplesoft/JDE and discuss it with them. They were very good about
it with us. Or review your JDE contract with a lawyer or accountant at your
firm to be sure of your position.
