8.11 Parallel Upgrade and Deployment Server

Hey again all,

The upgrade documentation is a bit unclear on certain things. Those of you who have done a parallel upgrade, do you have to have 2 separate Deployment Servers? Or can you upgrade the current deployment server and continue to build and deploy to the current 8.0 release?

It is best to freeze development activity. If that is not possible, the next best thing is a second deployment server. The last option, not recommended, is to use snapshot on the deployment server. It works but you're risking a reinstall if it blows up.

Forgot to mention that you may keep the existing share, say B7333, and build packages on fat clients. Performance may suffer...
