UBE running on PD v\'s WPD

Hi all,

JDE end-users use the PD environment[as opposed to WPD] and have a problem with a custom UBE. It appears that the problem is one of several BSFN used by the UBE. When we run the UBE on Fat Client locally it behaves ok. [as the BSFN are running locally] Yet when we run the UBE on the enterprise server the UBE completes with indifferent results.

So, how can we 'overide' this and have the UBE run locally on the WTS automatically? This way the BSFN would run on the WTS and not the Unix enterprise box. Note - running jobs in WPD is not an option available at this time.

if we mapped the BSFN to run locally would the UBE running on the enterprise box simply ignore this?

thanks in advance,

Re: UBE running on PD v\'s WPD

If I understand you correctly, you wish to have the behavior for the fat client for users on the terminal server behave exactly like the true fat client?

You would have the users log in to the PD instead of the WPD environment. This would cause the BSFN to run locally instead of on the BSFN server. That would take care of the BSFN problems.

To get UBE's to run locally you could create an OCM mapping for DEFAULT OCM LOCAL for PD7333. Or you could copy your LOCAL logical data source to create one named something other than LOCAL. Call it TSLOCAL if you like. You could then instruct users to override UBE location and have them choose that datasource.

I would really figure out what the problem is with the UBE/BSFN you are struggling with though. You probably don't want to run all UBE's locally.
