Re: Ship confirm with bar codes

Has anyone come across the following situation and managed to come up with a
successful solution.
The client will use tethered bar code readers at ship confirm for lot
controlled product. Pick list will be soft committed because they do not
want to suggest lot numbers to the pickers for efficiency reasons.
The pickers will return to the despatch area with a bag full of products
which will then be scanned one piece at a time. Each order line will need
to be divided to reflect the different lots picked, similar to the select
location screen on the ship confirm. However, this screen is at item level
and I would need to do this at pick list level.
Options seem to be to create a file and then load this thru P4205 to get the
extra lines created or use cache to hold the data until all order lines are
completed.
Any help, thoughts would be gratefully received.

Re: Ship confirm with bar codes

I don't have a specific solution for you, but did see a demonstration done by ICS, the JDE BP that has the RF Smart barcode interface to JDE. They seemed to have a very good grasp on the practical aspects of the common requirements of the job and had done several improvements to the standard JDE approach. You might want to contact them at www.icsfl.com to see if they have already worked out an enhancement to fit your need.

RE: Ship confirm with bar codes

My previous employer had a similiar situation using Lots and not suggesting
Lots. We used RF and DSI software which integrates with JD. Edwards.
