Calculation of wrong Gain/loss and improper display of Foreign Exchange rate in Payment Voucher :

I) In Production environment we get very distorted results as it neither calculates Foreign exchange gain nor payment amount of bank accurately.

As in following case Actual Gain should be Rs.57602/- but as per JDE it is Rs. 20226/-
And Actual amount that should hit the bank account should be Rs.1976070/- but as per JDE it is calculating Rs. 2006598/-

Voucher was booked at respective rate and payment was made @ Rs. 44.14 as follows :-
Voucher Paid as per our calculation Paid as per JDE
USD Rate Rupees Rate Paid amount Gain Rate as Per JDE Gain

II) Result of Test case in Development Environment :-
1.Rate is set as follows : from USD to INR

Date Rate
28.03.05 44.00 ( Voucher booking Date)
29.03.05 45.00 ( Voucher booking Date)
30.03.05 44.14 (Payment booking Date)

2.Voucher is booked as follows :-

Number Date USD Amt Rate Amt in Rupees
11 28.03.05 8000 44.00 352000.00
22 29.03.05 9000 45.00 405000.00

3.Payment was made for 17000 USD @ 44.14 gain loss calculated in JDE as follows

For Voucher No. Open Amount Paid Amount Gain/(Loss)

11 352000 353120 (1120)
22 413000 397260 15740

for Voucher no. 11 amount calculated is correct but for Voucher No.22 amount should be as follows

22 405000 397260 7740

and in both the above environment while displaying payment voucher it is picking up 1st vouchers rate of exchange eventhough amount converted is shown correct as per payment rate.

It looks like someone has been entering the exchange rate on the payment - this forces it to use the rate entered, if it is left blank it will use the current rate.

Looks like voucher 22 had an override rate entered during voucher entry
- or the wrong date was entered then the date was corrected but the user
didn't clear the rate already loaded.

Your example for voucher 22 clearly shows that the actual rupees on the
voucher (open amount) as being 413000 - NOT the 405000 you seem to have
expected.

Re: RE: Wrong Claculation of Forign Exchange Gain/Loss in JDE

11 352000 353120 (1120)
22 413000 397260 15740

(352000 + 41300)/17000USD = 45.00

The payment amounts are correct @8000 & 9000 USD paid at 44.14 but the amount paid has been calculated at 17000 @ 45.00 This was then allocated in Rupees to voucher 11 leaving the balance allocated to 22 which was wrong.

What does the F0411 show for Voucher 22 did it have an open amount of 9000 USD and 40500Rps and is it shpowing a payement of 9000USD and 41300 RPS? If you look on the supplier ledger account in Foreign currency is it shpowing Voucher 22 as 0 balance but in Domestic as - 800Rps?

I'm just guessing here but it should be quite esay to see if that's what happened.
