Hi List,

We are planning to upgrade our service pack level from SP21_Q1 to SP23_F1. We are currently on Xe with an AS/400.

The Service Pack Installation Instructions detail logging on as QSECOFR for a couple of steps within this process. Our management will NOT release the password for this profile and feels that this would be unnecessary exposure.

Can you please advise me on what the consequences of NOT using QSECOFR for this operation would be? Any mentionable experiences with SP23_F1 or other one-off(s) that we might consider?

Thanks, Jamie.

Just create a new account by copying QSECOFR.

The account can then be deactivated after the SP install.

Otherwise tell management to do the SP upgrade themselves.

I agree with Colin. Although, we had encountered a problem with a copied SECOFR profile once that caused the SP23_G1 JAS install to fail. We recently completed an 8.10 JAS install without any problems, using a SECOFR-like profile.

One thing to note, the install will create objects owned by this new profile. If you get mgmt to agree to allow a temporary SECOFR-like profile, remember to chgobjown to the ONEWORLD profile.
