A new issue suddenly popped up at our site that seems to affect the data dictionary and the ability to display error message and data dictionary text in applications.
We have been live for 4+ months and have not seen this issue at any point previous during our 2+ year inplementation. We are on an AS/400 running ERP 8.0. We are assuming "something" changed that caused this issue - just not sure where to look...
We are getting the message "Failed to Fetch error text xxxx from Data Dictionary", where xxxx is the error message number that should get displayed... this also seems to present itself when looking at selection criteria in a UBE in batch versions, in the selection criteria list some fields chosen seem to not be able to display the DD element text and instead displays "BadDictName".
One big clue we discovered is that the issue does NOT seem to occur if one were to sign into JDE using the old OneWorld Explorer as opposed to the Solution Explorer. This leads me to believe this is somehow security/deployment server related in some way.
These issues seem to be occurring on both fat client and web somewhat randomly.
At this point, it does not seem that these issues are preventing the system from operating properly.
Any insight anyone can offer would be appreciated.
