upgrade to v5r3

We are currently running XE on SP20 and will be going from v5r2 to a new v5r3 I5 box. Are there any issues with XE on the new v5r3?

From the wonderful PSFT KG:

PeopleSoft announces that EnterpriseOne Xe and ERP 8.0 applications have been validated for use on the IBM iSeries platform using IBM i5/OS V5R3. Support for V5R3 begins with Xe/ERP 8.0 Service Pack 23_A1.

Sounds like you would need to upgrade your Service Pack.

In upgrading to V5R3 you will be upgrading Client Access on the AS/400 and
you will have to be sure to upgrade all your clients as well. Old or
mismatched client access clients can cause a variety of errors.

You DEFINITELY need to upgrade your SP level...follow MTR's with OS/400, there are reasons for the MTR's. SP components interact directly with OS/400. Other than that, you should be good to go.

Hi;

I agree, I think you should upgrade SP

we've had some troubles :
0) check the ptf sf15998 (troubles on access plan)
1) you MUST do linkbsfn after an OS/400 upgrade!!!!
2) we have troubles doing check-out/check-in, the datasource password pop-ups...we stay in V5R2 last service pack on clients until we find a solution...(if someone knows about that)

for info, we've noticed worse performances after moving to SP23 V5R3 (maybe client access...)
i'm afraid of the perfs after the EO8.10 migration...
:crazy:

We had the same issues enssure that your FAT clients have the appropiate HOST file entries in the
windows/system32/drivers/etc directory
