Selections and Sequences - B7332

The JDE documentation states that 'any changes you make with selections and
sequences remain with that version. Every successive run of that version
will use the changes selection and sequencing.'
This does not work for us, changes do NOT persist from one running of a
version to the next. No error messages are sent to the logs. Is there some
configuration setting that controls this?

You must checkout the version and in the exit row change the Selection and
Sequence and then checkin the version.

Please check in the version after you have added a new version for a
particular report, this makes the version available to every user in that
particular environment and keeps the latest changes. It is always advisable
to user Version Security in Prod enviroments to avoid any unauthorized
change

I shall clarify the issue.

The following applies to B7322 fat-client: (NOTE B seven three two two!!!)
If a UBE is initiated by double-clicking the version (or selecting then ok),
and data selection is changed and the report run, the next time that report
is run the changes made to the data selection before the first run appear
and apply to the second run. THIS HAPPENS WITHOUT CHECKING IN. Observing the
date/time on rdaspec.ddb shows that this is updated at the time OK is
pressed on the processing options (strangely however if TAM logging is on,
nothing appears in the log about this update). The obvious implication is
that data selection changes are saved in the rdaspec of the local
workstation and are used next time the report is run.

The following applies to B7332 fat client:
Changes to data selection made before a run do NOT show up at the next run.
Observing the date/time on rdaspec.ddb shows that no update occurs even
thought the logs look almost identical to the B7322 logs.

Re: RE: Selections and Sequences - B7332

Tony, you use the term "TAM logging". Is this something other than a debug log? If it is, could you please describe it?

RE: RE: Selections and Sequences - B7332

I am referring to the setting TAMTraceLevel=1 which puts TAM accesses into
the debug log file.

Are you checking out the version - making changes to selections and
sequences - then checking them back in ?

If so, all should be well ?!?!?

Tony - B733.2 is different then prior releases. Previously, you could select your report and change/edit the data selection at runtime. This editing would be saved. In B733.2, the data selection change/edit at runtime is purposely not saved. This actually is useful because other users can't pick any report and permanently change data selection unless they check out the version and become the owner.

So, to permanently change the date selection, you must be the owner of the version, or check out the version. Then 'highlight' the version and Row Exit to Data Selection. By changing it here instead of at runtime the changes are saved.
