Question about Specs

Can someone refresh my memory on spec submission for Fat Clients.

If a Fat Client runs a report (say R43500|VERSION1) on the server, does it take the local specs, push them up, and run the report or does it simply run the report with whatever specs are on the server?

Thanks.

Grant

It depends on the EO release.

This is my understanding:

ERP8.9/10/11
------------
Only data selection and sequencing are carried to Enterprise server during normal UBE submission

Selecting "Submit Version Specs Only" causes *all* versions specs to be transferred to enterprise server

This seems to go back to the old (pre-Xe) way of doing this

ERP8/Xe
-------
In Xe/ERP8.0, all specs go to Enterprise server on UBE submission- unless you have specified otherwise in the client jde.ini setting ERSpecOverride=N

Prior to Xe
-----------
Same as 8.9

Grant,

I am not sure but believe that the specifications from the enterprise (application) server and not the local workstation are used when a UBE is run on the server.

Applications are run from the local workstation.

Good Luck,
Danny.
