We currently have several Citrix boxes in service and recently built another. For the new box, domain admins can launch Xe without exception. Users however, receive a database pop-up box. The jde.log entry starts:

This group has been very helpful in the past, so I am turning to it once again. Being more 'app' then 'tech', any suggestions or comments would be most welcome.

Try these two steps.

1. Check the ODBC setting. All setting should be in tab system DSN
2. Make sure you use control panel/add or remove program to install new client.

John.

Thank you for these suggestions. I did verify both items and neither were the issue.

We are also looking at another posibility for the issue. The existing 2000 servers are at SP 3. The new one was built and not tested until SP4 had been applied. We have since rebuilt the server only to SP3. There is no longer a problem. When we move on and test the upgrade to SP4, I will provide a follow-up.

If your new server is Windows2003, the permissions for the following files to be changed to modify for the Users group:

C:\JDE*.*

C:\B7\PD7333\SPEC\ (full folder)

C:\B7\SYSTEM\BIN32\JDEKRNL*.*

C:\JDEAPP.*
