Upgrading WAS 5.0.2.8 from SP23_B1 to SP23_F1 port error

I am trying to upgrade my SP level on the JAS server and I cannot overwrite my existing Application Server and Enterprise Application with the same port number. I have copied the existing directories and then uninstalled and deleted them from WebSphere and I have stopped my IIS server for the site but when I try to do the SP install it keeps telling me that the port is already in use and I have to use another one. I want to continue to use the same port for the Dev server. Any ideas?

Sorry.............you've got to uninstall the App on the current port and completely reinstall. Upgrading isn't an easy option. I'd suggest a good backup of the server before you begin.

If you look on the PSFT web site for the WAS4.0 docs there was a good section on how to uninstall the AS, VS and ES. ORDER DOES MATTER.
