Hi All

We are having two Enterprise Servers one For the DV and PY pathcodes and the Other for PD pathcode with a common security server on the Production Machine.

I am going for the upgrade from XE to EO 8.9 ,Right now i will be upgrading the DV environment and then PD . So i did like to know if i can go ahead without a multiple foundation or is it required to go for it.

I also would like to know if having a common security server wil raise an issue if i go ahead without multiple foundation.

I don't think that there is any issue with your plans. The common security
server would use different ports for the versions and use separate system
databases. We however recently went from B7332 to B8.0 and then to B8.9. We
also upgraded from NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 and SQL 7 to SQL 2000. To do this
we used new servers rather than doing the whole co-existant process with
split environments on the B7332 servers. This is a much lower risk factor,
some food for thought.
