Event Rule Design

Hello List,

Is there a way to secure the Table I/O button on the Event Rule Design under
Report Design Aid?

We're conducting a RDA class and don't want the users to have access to that
button.

Thanks,
Wade

Hi Wade,

I am affraid there is no way currently.
The Enterprise Report Writer is not really a Report designer tool but a Batch Data Processor tool too.
If you allow to the user to use RDA then you allow almost everything.
Yes, it is a very painful point.
Sometimes Table I/O could be innocent and useful for report writing when you use it for managing worktables of the report or when you use only the "read-only" functions but it is very dangerous in other cases.
Further not enough to secure Table I/O but you have to secure the "Database Output" Section feature too.
I have made some investigation in the past how can we secure these funtions but unfortunately without success.

I would be one of the most glad in the world of OneWorld when somebody could tell us a solution.

I think, we have to address this very important issue to JDE. As more of us will do it as better will be.
