WebSphere Version

I am getting a little annoyed with JDE/PSFT support.

I can't get a straight answer about which version of WebSphere 5.0 they support. I know that Enterprise and Network are supported. The waters get murkey on vanilla WebSphere Application Server 5.0. I know that Single Server was officially not supported.


Does anyone know if WebSphere App Server 5.0 (not EE nor Network) is supported?

Since you did not specify what version of PeopleSoft you are using I got the information from the Knowledge Garden Minimum Tech Requirements for both 8.0 and 8.9.

8.0 SP23 supports Websphere 5.0.2
8.9 SP2 supports Websphere 5.0.2

This is for the Application Server as well as Enterprise.

Finally got a solid answer from Support Line:

For XE SP23 and ERP8.9 SP2, the following versions of WebSphere and WebLogic are supported:

1. WebSphere App Server 4.0 Advanced
2. WebSphere App Server 5.0 Enterprise
3. WebSphere App Server 5.0 Network
4.WebSphere App Server 5.0 (aka standard)
5.WebLogic App Server 8.1 (aka standard)

All the above are currently supported.

6. WebLogic App Server Premium 8.1: Currently not supported. This might
change in the future.

7. WebLogic Express: We have a plan to support it starting from the release
8.11. See SAR# 6946340.

8. WebSphere Express 5.0.2: We would recommend and support the use of the
Express version of WebSphere application server only with a web development
environment with web enabled design tools for development, but not for
production. This design option is not available until 8.11 and tools
release 8.93.
