but when I log in, the description is still the old one
please advise, Thanks

Hi Derek,
there are actually a few places where the DD, can be overridden. You should take a look at the jargon overrides and the Vocab Overrides too (within the actual form itself).

Also you should take a look at the products from Pastuhov Consulting (take a look at http://www.1stconsulting.biz/Pastuhov.htm) to do with Vocab. Overrides which can certainly help too.

Warm regards

Peter

Hello,derek
Where did you see the description still the old one? If you see the description in a table which including RP02,that is normal.Because you didn't change the spec of the tables including RP02,the spec was also the old one.

We have had success when changing the NAME field in conjunction with the row and column headings.

Hi Derek,

If you want to see the change of an alias description in data selections of UBE, you also need to modify the description by sql in the F9203 table (in Data Dictionnary - B7333 data source), which is "Data Item Alpha Description" table (description by language).
And after that you need to refresh local specs (ddict, ddtext, gbltbl) on fat clients and servers. And if you use html (like us), you need to do a get on versions that use this alias in their data selections before regenerate them (or refresh local specs of the e-generator using R92TAM, and make a full html generation).

I used that because of issue with several alias in french language (yes i'm french !) ... Because JDE gave the same description in french for several alias, and it create issue in html when a version use several alias with the same description in the data selection. (Thanks PeopleSoft to take care of your European Customers !! :)

Hope this help.
