DD Item Occurrences

Hi

I'm trying to create an array with Alias (for example) #Q and 10 occurrences, but it just won't create it for me. Has anyone a list of exactly what I need to do ?

Thanks

I was not aware that the ERW has ever supported arrays. Is this something new ?

DD allows you to setup items that "occur".
ER (still, and probably won't ever) support arrays.

Not aliases - that's a bad description in jde JDE help files.

It just creates multiple instances - for example look at JDE DD item AC. It has 20 occurrences which just means it autmatically generates AC01, AC02 ... AC20. It simply saves time creating a whole lot of identical items.

That said, I am also trying to create 14 occurrences of a custom DD item and it is not working for me either - no idea why! Seems to be broken (8.12 on 8.98.4)

Huh. Learn something new every day. I had never noticed that field in the DD before. So its supposed to gen a bunch of identical DD items with 01, 02, etc. appended to the end? Can you mod the generated DD items afterwards?

Yep. Almost everyone I mention this to says the same thing!

I'm not sure if changes to the parent item flow through to the child items.

However the main problem at the moment is... it doesn't work anymore (at least in 8.12 8.98.4) - creating the parent item no longer creates any child items. Not sure when it got broken or if there is a fix.
