ERP 8.9 - OCM Mapping Issue

On a recent ERP 8.9 install (Win2K/SQL/AS/400), we had certain application functionality not working properly.

We deactivated all specific OCM BSFN mappings and left only the DEFAULT BSFN to map to LOCAL, and, for the moment, this seems to make everything work. But I'm concerned about the longer term impact.

Does anyone have an opinion on whether all ERP 8.9 BSFN's can be safely mapped locally, or, are some of those specific mappings to the servers actually critical?

Thanks for all help!

Hamp,
BSFN mapping to the server is a performance question (unless you use JAS). It has been widely discussed here on the List. EO8.9 should not be different. It should always be safe to map BSFNs locally. We did the same even though we are using WTS.

Hi there,

We also had lots of issues (performance and Application errors) due to logic mapping. Likewise, we took the approach for the time being to map all BSFNs to LOCAL. This improved performance and solved some of the caching type errors we were experiencing.
