Hello list,
I am not sure how many are up and running on 8.9 or 8.0, but I would value
your opinions on which upgrade to do. we are currently on XE U3 SP 20. we
are preparing to implement the distribution suite and are trying to decide
if we should make the leap to 8.9? We will be installing a brand new
iSeries for this implementation, as we will be making changes to our chart
of accounts, etc. at this time. we are currently using Financials only.
Thanx!

We just went through an analysis to determine which upgrade would be best for us. We've decided to upgrade to 8.9 since our biggest issue (HP11i required) has been resolved. Attached is a pros and cons document. Hope this helps.

Hi Patty

An excellent overview of the differences. However, I would stress the importance of the differences between Citrix support and JAS support between the two versions - and also I would include that ERP 8.9 is not live anywhere yet, whereas ERP 8.0 is a mature product. This would certainly affect a project in the short term, but should not be a worry in the long term.

But, yes, 8.9 is certainly the future, and if you are expecting an upgrade/retrofit to occur over the next 6 months anyway, I would certainly select 8.9 as the solution to go with.

Thanks for adding the bit about Citrix and JAS. The attachment is an internal document and applies to our site only. Since we are not running Citrix or JAS it was not included. I encourage everyone to add their two cents.
