XE SUPPORT

Taking co-existence out of the subject, Does anyone know what the actual support will be for XE after the February 25, 2005 deadline to drop coexistence.

Will XE continue to be supported as it is today?
Will SAR's continue to be created?

I am not getting any straight answers from anyone.

Thanks for your reply.

Typically, when JDE has ended support, they have only stopped development. They will take responseline calls and resolve issues but will not add any new enhancements to the version. They also become very picky about resolving issues and debugging code. As I don't have any experience with the PeopleSoft methodology, I can't respond as to what their direction will be.

I just opened an issue and ask that very same question. I'll let you know
what they say. Joy

The reply we got was "Xe will be
supported until the end of February 2005. This was always the case, as it
was connected with support of coexistence for World Software.
However, under the new support arrangements just announced, technical
support will continue indefinitely.

"Indefinite technical support, which will be extended to all currently
supported releases, provides customers access to problem-solving
assistance and technical expertise, case management, existing fixes and
updates, tips and techniques, workarounds, self-service support tools, and
knowledge bases (GSC and Web support) - indefinitely.""

Yes I believe that technical support will be continued.

But will they continue creating sar's or will the user have to manualy create their own fixes to code?

Yes, they will continue to take questions and try to help you. However, they may not have the version installed in-house for trying to duplicate problems. And their development will stop.

What I'm asking is - If you had anything other than Gold Support with JDE -
What did PeopleSoft give you? Joy

My fear is that they will stop creating 1099 and W2 yr end ASUs after
2005, like they did for B7332. That would leave many customers high &
dry.
