ERP9 and 21 CFR Part 11

We were planning to upgrade from Xe to ERP 9 (8.9) until we found out this release would not include the patch for 21 CFR Part 11.

This being the case I was wondering how many Life Science organizations are using ERP 8 or are you waiting for the next release 8.10 scheduled for May '04? We waited for 9 since it contain lot enhancements for the industry and are disappointed the they drop Part 11.

It was my understanding that the 21 CFR Part 11 would be included with
ERP9/EnterpriseOne but not until SP2. My company is probably going to move
to ERP9, but we are waiting for the service packs to be released to 'catch
it up' to the equivalent of SP22 in Xe. I just don't understand JDEs method
for masting software..To release a new version of software without less
functionality than the previous version seems a bit weird to me..but I don't
want to start a new thread of JDEs code maintenance...eek!

First of all CFR part 11 was not dropped.......it just did not make the cut-off date for ERP9/PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.9. The cut-off date was sometime last year.

Second CFR Part 11 (non-unicode) support is in SP2 which was released 2 weeks ago. SP2 for 8.9/ERP9 is the equivalent of SP22 for ERP8. SP2 also includes support for WAS5.0.2

if you want CFR Part 11 (unicode) support then you'll have to wait atleast a year - 2005 more than likely.

Gosh, I must of spoke to my rep if I stated that I was told 8.10 was
scheduled for May 04. The MTR still states it will not be included until
8.10 with no mention to SP2

One of the reasons people ask questions to the list is because the rep's
are not always all knowing or correct.
