Can not Mirror Object in B7334SYS Library

Hey List,
We are in the process of implementing HA with Vision Solutions. We have enrolled our JD Edwards libraries and have found we are encountering a problem with the H file in the B7334SYS library. It seems that this file has a member that begins with an underscore (_JDEPROJ) which creates a problem when you try and replicate it over to the target system. Basically the error we receive is can not allocate object because it does not conform to supported naming convention. Just wondering if anyone has seen this issue and it looks as if the fix would be to stop mirroring the object. BTW the object does not seem to be getting updated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

John,

We have no issue mirroring the object. We use DataMirror as our HA solution. You should have Vision produce a patch for you. An HA solution should support whatever is legal on a platform. We have had some of the same discussions with DM.

As far as updating the object. It is used in package builds and only get's updated when you load a SP. At least I've never seen an ESU that adds a member.

Hope this helps.

Tom,
What version of AS400 are you on? We are using Data Mirror also and are
updating to V5R2 and wondered if there were any issues.

Re: RE: Can not Mirror Object in B7334SYS Library

Libbi,

We are at V5R2. There are always issues, but we don't have any significant issues. Both source and target 400's are V5R2. Our major issue is that we aren't able to get a couple of weekends to do our final testing. I believe that we now have a system we can roll over to and have for about 5 months now. However, due to multiple 'go-lives' around the globe we have been unable to schedule our last user acceptance tests.

If you check the Quest archives you should be able to find the presentation we did jointly with JDE on our installation.

In a nutshell we mirror essentially everything from our production (830) ES to a backup ES (LPAR on a smaller 830) that is also our development box. They are connected by a dedicated G-Bit crossover cable. We have about 600 concurrent users, and run about 79K UBE's per week. And the number of changes sometimes backs up on the target machine.

Third party applications we use are Extol (EDI), FormScape, FastFax, Help Systems ROBOT products, & RDARS (Optical).

Hope this helps.
