Moving XE to new machines

We are trying to upgrade from XE to ERP8, want to use the UPGRADE path but want to do this on a new As/400 and Deployment server. Anyone know how to move my current XE system to a new AS/400 and Deployment server without restoring the entire system?

It'd be easier to restore the whole system on copies of the enterprise server and deployment server while on a different subnet, then transfer the code over to the old server once finished.

This is also known as a "sandbox" upgrade - and by using that term, you should be able to find other references both here and on the KG.
