Viewing submitted reports via portal

I am sure each on of us, at some time have been challeged to reduce the number of steps required to view a submitted report. The problem becomes even more challenging when it comes to portal / HTML client. The ideal situation would be when the report pops up on the screen as soon as it has finished running on the server (similar to when the UBE is submitted 'LOCAL' on a fat client). We have a SAR open with JDE since long and it currently is likely to be fixed by Jan 2005 ! We are given the impression by JDE that we are the only ones who require this 'enhancement'. Unofficially, they have advised us to work with JDE user forums to garner support for this requirement so that we can put pressure on JDE to provide a fix much earlier than Jan 2005. Can you please mail me with your Comany's name and ref if you have an open SAR or wish to have this issue resolved?

thanks in advance

Ideally it would only require a message box to appear when the job was finished with the option of opening the specific report.

We have also logged a call for either a processing option to be added to the P986110B (submitted Job Search) to allow a value to be defaulted into the Host (exehost) field. This would allow it be opened directly without having to go through the P986116 (Work with Servers) or P98305 (Batch version). This would allow the application to be opened directly.

At present if the P986110B (submitted Job Search) is opened directly it defaults in the “*” character, but returns no records. The other alternative is that the system recognises the character and returns records

Worth noting is hte 'Print Queue Centre' which is a JDE component in Portal which we have just found. It displays all of the users submitted reports and is easy to use. We have added it to a separate workspace and all the user has to do is choose the workspace and all their reports are displayed.

Thanks for your response. We have been using the Print Queue center for a while now. Our intent is to provide a single click solution to the users which includes submission of report, OK on the printer selection screen, clicking 'refresh' a few times before the report appears at the 'bottom' of the print q center, scroll down and click on the report to open it up.
