Change JDE password

I attempted to change the JDE password and ran into a problem.

I changed the password for JDE in the domain.

Changed the password in SQL Server.

Changed the password in OneWorld

Modified the JDE.INI to reflect the new password.

When I started the Network Service the log indicated the Security Server could not start because it couldn't log on to JDECLUSTER - B7333 Server Map as JDE.

I tried connecting as user JDE with the new password with the ODBC connections and made the connection without a problem.

I changed the password back to the previous value and the services started without a problem.

Does anyone have any idea what I missed?

Thanks,

Have you changed the system user password for all the userid's? As well as
changing the JDE user's password you need to change the system user password
on all userid's .

Go to menu GH9052and select signon security. In the datasource field in the
header, type "DEFAULT" and do a find. Highlight the default record that
appears in the tree structure and take the row exit "Revise Datasource". You
can change the password in there.

Hi there,

It seems that you forgot to erase and recreate the Security Server entry
(P00950) for user JDE.

Looks like you've forgotten to change the password in the Enterprise server
jde.ini - this is the one used by network services/middleware.

Oops,

I've just realized that I've made a typo. Password change app is P98OWSEC
and not P00950!

Re: RE: Change JDE password

I changed all the entries in the enterprise server JDE.INI to reflect the new password for JDE.

I also changed the JDE password in P98OWSEC.

Re: RE: Change JDE password

I am gathering all of this good info and will attempt to change the JDE password again this weekend.

You may want to go out to the knowledge garden and download the doc Changing
JDE passwords which will walk you through the steps.

Hi,
we ran into the same problems as you did when we changed the JDE password. Our new password was more than 10 characters long. When you log on to OW the program seems to cut or ignore the characters beyond 10, so you can log on successfully but it won't work for the services.
Use a password with max. 10 characters or less!
