Subject: Improvements to the Service Pack One-Off Release Process

September 10, 2003

Dear Valued Customer:

Starting with One-Off SP22_H1 for OneWorld Xe/ERP8.0 and One-Off SP1_E1 for ERP9.0, each downloadable One-Off will be a full Service Pack structure with all foundation code delivered, as opposed to an incremental set of foundation code which is applied to a Full Service Pack. This process will provide one consistent method of applying foundation code changes delivered in the form of a Full Service Pack or a Service Pack One-Off.

This new process should also improve One-Off consistency and quality and remove the risk of a One-Off overwriting fixes shipped in an earlier One-Off or Service Pack. This added consistency should improve the quality of all Service Pack deliverables and the ease of implementation.

The key features of this new One-Off process include:

1. Each One-Off will be a full set of Service Pack foundation code. It will contain all files and file structures of a Full Service Pack. The only difference between the One-Off and the Full Service Pack will be that the One-Off will have up to date bug fixes in it that its predecessor Full Service Pack will not have.

2. Customers will now use the same install process for Full and One-Off Service Packs.

3. The number of fixes and the priority of those fixes will not change with this new process.

4. Simplification of the process for customers on older Service Packs to get current on their Service Pack code. Under the old delivery of One-Offs, the process of getting the most current Service Pack code was to take the Full Service Pack then the latest One-Off for that Service Pack line. Under this new process, only the latest One-Off for the desired Service Pack line will be applied to get the Service Pack code up to date.

5. To ensure that priority bug fixes are delivered in a timely fashion, we will continue to release Service Pack One-Offs on a two-week cycle, the same as they are today.

6. The first One-Off is available at the same time as the General Availability date of the Full or Dot Service Pack.

7. The second One-Off and all other subsequent One-Offs are released every two weeks thereafter.

8. There will continue to be only one One-Off per Full or Dot Service Pack available at any given time.

9. One-Offs will never be re-released using the same name.

10. Both Full and One-Off Service Packs are only available to current customers via Update Center Downloads. CD copies of Service Packs only ship with new ERP software orders.

Sincerely,
