[crazy] Hi list,
We are migrating from OW B7332 to ERP8.0 and we are having a doubt. Would like to know if in the process of migration when the F98OWSEC is copyed, the users and passwords are copyied too???. Is necessary to make any modification after that...???

Could anyone help me...???

Yes, it's copied.

Normally, you do not need to worry about it, except that if you upgrade in
stages, it's only copied once in the beginning, so your users should not
change their passwords after that until the final cutover, or remember the
old passwords.

Francisco,
Alex is right, the users´ profile and password information should be migrated to your new release.
However, this happens when you migrate your first environment, likely the PY environment. After you conclude all necessary tests and migrate the production environment the respective tables will not be copied again.
This means:
1. If you have migrated PY already and the information did not come over, something went wrong.
2. If you take a long time between migrating PY and then PD, many users will have changed their passwords (in B7332) and the ERP8 tables will have the old passwords (from the first migration). You may want to reset the passwords or copy the tables manually when you go live on ERP8.

Good luck and Boa Sorte, Gerd

Thank You for the response.

Hi,

We recently completed our migration from B7332 to ERP8 and the security is copied over. The only problem I can see you having is that users may change their passwords between the time you migrate your first environment, such as DV and when you go live with ERP8. We made paralell changes to the security table in both releases until we went live with ERP8. I reset all the users passwords in ERP8 as well.

Hi,

One more thing to note:
ERP 8 has security for processing options that specify data selection. The migration did take all our security, but left the 'data selction' field blank as it did not exist in B7332. This caused us some problems because the default is to not allow the user to use data selection if the field is blank. It uses the same feild at the 'OK Select'. I wrote a quick SQL script to make the change from the back end and it worked well in our case.
